As a substitute in Kindergarten or First Grade, please report to the K-1 office by 7:15 am. You will be entering campus through Manoa road. If you are not assigned a specific stall, please park along the track or on the Manoa Road side of the Dillingham tennis courts.
After parking your car, please proceed to the Wilcox Office to be greeted by Administrative Assistant Karen Dote.
Please introduce yourself and provide the name of the teacher you are substituting for. Karen will direct you to sign in, let you know where your classroom is located, who your partner teacher will be and provide you with a substitute form to be filled out at the end of the day.
If this is a scheduled absence, you should have received your roster, schedule, and lesson plan through Ready Sub in advance, and these documents will be on the teacher’s desk. If this is an unscheduled absence, Karen will assist you with obtaining the necessary documents.
In K-1, teachers warmly greet students as they are dropped off to begin their day. After putting your personal items and documents in the classroom, please proceed to the drop off area to assist in welcoming our students.
Your substitute day has officially begun, and we hope you have an enriching day with your students. Once you are in your classroom with your students, please take attendance using your roster and ask your Assistant Teacher or Lead Teacher to submit your attendance through MyBackPack or by calling the office at extension 5826, while noting any absences on the substitute form.
Follow the schedule and lesson that you have been provided for the remainder of the day.

After the school day is done, please fill out the Substitute Form and leave it on the teacher’s desk. The form will ask you to note student absences, what went well, and what could have been better about your day. You will also have an opportunity to leave additional comments and questions on the back of the form. In addition to filling out this form, you may also leave feedback through your Ready Sub account.
